The Raum (space) which Ingolf Brökels opens to the reader from several perspectives is a historical space in which an I lyrically highlights important stages in his development - from the post-war childhood over the socialisation in Eastern Germany, from the annihilation of his Lusatian soft coal mining home town over the experiences and insights of the 1989 reunification and post-reunification period to the immediate present. In the process the themes expand from national problems, fashions and moods towards the global.
